Breda opens new Tourist Office, Explore Breda Store

After four years, Breda has an official Tourist Office once again: Explore Breda Store. At Stadserf 2 in the heart of the city centre. Alderman Carla Kranenborg - van Eerd performed the official opening today. The Explore Breda Store was developed by Breda Marketing, which holds the official Tourist Office licence in Breda, on behalf of the municipality. Together with Breda Marketing, we developed the concept and designed the shop's interior. Besides its information function, Explore Breda Store will inspire visitors, residents, students and entrepreneurs with unique stories and products from Breda.
After four years, Breda has a VVV shop once again: Explore Breda Store.

"Locally sourced" was one of the pillars of the concept. Local materials were used in the interior design. The felt walls were made from old army uniforms from the Ministry of Defence, the wall cabinets from Breda Beams (plastic waste) and the seats from reused Breda trees. We opted for an interior consisting of modular elements, so that the space can be arranged flexibly based on current needs.

Hildegard Assies, director of Breda Marketing: "Together with the digital platform, the store forms the off- and online guide to experiencing the city to the fullest. You orient yourself at home, go to the store and discover the city the way you want to. Everything revolves around Breda's story: boundless, green and hospitable. The Explore Breda Store is perhaps the most sustainable information point in the Netherlands," says Hildegard.
For Breda as a top 10 city with 11 per cent more visitors last year, this inspiring place fulfils an important role.
